Player Update

6 years ago By User 91056

Manager Mark Shaw has moved to bolster the Shirebrook Town squad this week with the signing of striker Mitcham Husbands (pictured) and defender Grant Hemsley.

Both players began their playing careers in the youth set-ups of professional clubs, 18-year-old Husbands at Sheffield Wednesday and 23-year-old Hemsley at Rotherham United.

Hemsley re-joins Shaw after playing for him when he was manager at Sheffield FC and Sutton Town AFC.

Shaw said of the two new signings: “They both join the club at an important time as our injury list is getting bigger.”

Meanwhile, left-sided player Lewis Jackson has left Shirebrook Town and stepped up to join NCEL Premier Division side Arnold Town.

Lewis has been a faithful and popular servant to the club and everyone at Langwith Road wishes him all the very best for the future.
