Second half goals from Sam Smith Tate Clarke and an own goal gave Shirebrook a 3-1 win in the Buildbase FA Vase

MOTM Widdowson

ATT 153

Shirebrook started well with them seeing a lot of the ball but struggled to create any chances until the 20th minute when Carter Widdowson got to Adam Colton corner and hit the crossbar with a header Shirebrook now began to carve out some chances the best of which fell to Jermaine Jatau but his shot went just wide but as the half wore on Long Eaton began to grow into the game and they started to control the end of the half and the deadlock was broken in the 37th minute when Shaun Rickford was left unmarked in the box and gave Long Eaton the lead and they managed to hold that advantage till the break.

Shirebrook were on the front foot from the get go in the second half but again couldn't get any chances on target but the visitors were not out of the game and began to push forward looking to extend there lead but couldn't get any shots on target but in the 72nd minute Shirebrook pulled level when Eden Homer broke down the right wing and his cross was deflected into the net by Brandon Clarke Shirebrook now had the wind in there sales and took the lead in the 84th minute when Sam Smith cross from the left was miss hit and flew into the top corner to put Shirebrook into the lead Long Eaton threw everything forward to try and get back into the the game but they were reduced to 10 men in the 87th minute when Ryan Head was given a second yellow card for a challenge on Joe Naylor but as Long Eaton were throwing everything at Shirebrook they left the back door open and Kieran Watson found Tate Clarke who made the game safe for Shirebrook and sent them into the next round.
