Changes are coming

After Sarurdays disappointing result against FC Bolsover joint Shirebrook Manager Alan Widdowson spoke to The Bootiful Game to give his thought on the game

“We started the game very well in the first 15 minutes with our pace up top, but after that we went flat and Bolsover gradually got themselves into the game. They had a game plan and executed it very well in my opinion. There are only so many long throws and corners you can head clear and they had the players to make it difficult for us. Inevitably they scored with a set piece which eventually decided the game. The second half was the same for us, as we started brightly but the threat wasn’t there. Bolsover managed the game better and held out for the 3 points which I thought overall they deserved. We are very disappointed with the performance and I will tell you this, there will be changes in the coming weeks, as that performance wasn’t good enough for the standards we set at our club. Only a few players deserve a shirt, the others need to look over their shoulders. They either step up to the plate and play for the shirt or they will find themselves sat with me and Lee. We know it’s tough but that’s football and decisions need to be made.”
