Shirebrook Made To Look Like Amateurs

Shirebrooks 100% record came to an end in embarrassing fashion as they were beaten 5-1 by high flying Yorkshire Amateur

ATT 80

Shirebrook started well seeing a lot of the ball and Kieran Watson and Danny Williams both going close to opening the scoring however against the run of play the home side opened the scoring in the 15th minute through Daniel Naidole however things got worse 2 minutes later when League top scorer Ashley Flynn was left unmarked in the box and punished Shirebrook to make it 2-0 but in the 26th minute Shirebrook got back into the game when Kieran Watson was played in and shot but the Yorkshire Amateur keeper couldn't hold on to the shot and parried it into the path of Sam Dockwray who reduced the deficit but were lucky to go in only 2 down as Ashley Flynn and Fernando Moke both had chances to extend the home side advantage but both failed to take them.

Shirebrook started the second half strong but again failed to take the chances that fell to them Kieran Watson Danny Williams and Chris Timmons all had chances to pull a goal back but in the 71st minute T'nique Fishley capitalized on poor defending from Shirebrook to make it 3-1 and as Shirebrook heads dropped Fernando Moke made it 4-1 in the 77th minute and in the final 10 minutes the home side were all over Shirebrook and had a number of chances to extend there lead and eventually grabbed a 5th in the 86th minute when Moke got his 2nd of the game even with the game drawing to a close league top scorer Ashley Flynn was presented with a golden opportunity to score his 2nd of the game but fluffed his lines but Shirebrook were finally put of of there misery as the ref called time on a game that was over well before the 90 minutes were up.

Shirebrook are back in action on Tuesday night as they travel to Knaresborough Town 7:45 KO

Shirebrook starting XI Saxby Cooke Homer Simpson(Widdowson) Timmons (C) Henshaw Clarke (Lilley) Dockwray Williams Watson Herbert Spencer)
