Shortwood United

Groundsman of the year - Mark Webb

We all know how much work Squish puts into the ground at Shortwood and today he was rewarded by being named "Southern League Groundsman of the Year" and also "National Groundsman of the Year" for clubs at Step 3 and Step 4.

It is a great achievement for Mark and his willing helpers (in particular Bill and Keith) and for Shortwood Football Club.

Well done to all those concerned.

    Mark

This is yet another wonderful achievement you have gained for Shortwood United Football Club. It is really satisfying to see you, yet again, attain the recognition you so rightly deserve for your groundsmanship skills and total dedication in presenting the very best footballing surface possible for the players. I know everyone associated with the Club will be justifiably proud that you have received these awards. My sincere congratulations go to to you, Keith, and Bill, you are certainly a great team. And not least our thanks to your wife Sarah and family who provide so much by way of support and tolerance for the time you spend at their expense.

With Best Regards Bill and Sally Reay
