Jim's Weekend Round up - part one

Jim's Weekend Round up - part one image

Stormy weather...

With the firsts not playing til this afternoon (Highworth in the FA Cup - c'mon keep up!) I thought it would be a good opportunity to cast an eye of Dessies Ressies as they start their new life in the Hellenic League. And what a better test for them than last years league Champions Gloucester City Dev.
It was good to see ex Woody Jack Price again as he made his last appearance for City as he is taking up a new job in Kidderminster and won't be able to play Saturdays. Good luck Jack and give me love to yer mum.

Anyway with thunder rolling around and heavy rain it was good to see the Squishers pitch hold up well as usual even tho our little hobbitt was stamping his feet in frustration as players dare to run about on it when it was raining...

The game was a cracker and if that is the standard spectators can expect from the Reserve games this season then they are in for a treat believe me. As well as the 6 goals there were chances galore and the football was of a very high quality and played on the floor.
Dessie was undertandably delighted with the performance and the spirit his side showed to come from behind twice. Now I know Dessie doesn't like to single anyone out by giving a man of the match and yesterday, especially, I can sympathise! Wherever you looked there was quality!
For the record our goals were scored by Ryan Meredith, Craig Mills, Joe Rymall and Ryan Thwaite...

I have posted details of the first teams travel arrangements to Sholing next week but if you are not going then I urge you to get up to the Bank to watch the Ressies when they play Cirencester Town Dev. You will not be disappointed!

If you are going then can SOMEONE please let me have a report! It doesn't have to be polished - even a note about the major incidents and a description of goals will do! I try to give the Ressies as much as I can on the website but I cannot be in two places at once! If you can help just email me at jimcunneen1951@btinternet.com...

Talking of reports yesterdays is up together with Brians pictures...

And so gentle readers it's off to Highworth and more tomorrow....
