Wood make last 32 in Vase.Last ditch defeat for Ressies

Te firsts pulled off a great 2-0 win against Shoreham to send us into the last 32 of the Vase and move us one step neare to Wembley. Make no mistake Shoreham were a quality side who pushed us all the way and it could have been so different if not for two top draw saves from mom Rich Barrett. He manged to smash up his thumb before the game but it was kept quiet from his team mates. Great thing was that you would never have guessed. He seems to be a thoroughly nice chap as well. Anyway Hosky moved within 3 points of Singher with his goal and assist and Tiggsy managed to keep up his impressive points per game ratio. Hosky would have had another 5 points for his tally if Alton Towers had remembered which end he was at and not cleared Andy's effort off the line. Still he looked very fetching in his little orange outfit! Luke B, Tigs, Mack and Matty B all picked up yellows that saw one of theirs sent off and 3 more booked in a game that did not warrant so many bookings! Still, lets hope for another home draw when it is made tomorrow. As soon as I know I'll post it so watch this space...

Thanks to Pat C and Nailsworth Computer Services for his sponsorship for the game - he is proving to be a lucky talisman in the cup games!

The Ressies lost 3-2 to a very late goal at Barnwood after twice being in the lead but the afternoon was apparently marred by some rather unpleasant scenes off the pitch....I have not received the match report yet from Tobes but i'll stick it up when I get it.

The pitch had another deluge dumped on it last night and Le Squish will have our work cut out to get Tuesdays game on but HOPEFULLY we should be playing Abingdon at the Theatre of Dreams. Saturday yet another home game - and more bloody programme notes - for the visit of Oxford City Nomads - while the Ressies are on their travels again. This time the Satnavvies are at Brockworth - ko 2 pm.
