For the first 20 minutes of this game Wood were dominant and played their best football of the season.
After only 10 minutes Haddock was pulled down in the area but the referee played on as the ball ran to Martin but his shot was deflected for a corner. Coates fired a free kick wide but generally Shortwood were lacking up front and for all their early possession few chances were created and Tytherington slowly came back into the game and enjoyed possession of their own and put the Wood defence under some pressure.
But with Mark Pritchett
settling in well threats to the Wood goal were generally restricted to half chances.
changed the formation round at half time and the dividend was immediate. Coates hit a terrific diagonal ball into the area and Haddock controlled it neatly before shooting into the corner. Gullick forced the home keeper into a good save before Wood scored their second after 59 minutes. Cant’s low ball across the edge of the area went under Singh’s foot and ran nicely to Jamie Martin
who shot just under the bar. The Rocks had a good chance to pull one back shortly after but their forward shot into the area.
Pritchett scored the third after 62 minutes with a terrific strike from 25 yards and Wood started to dominate.
The closest they came to adding a fourth however was 5 minutes from time when Coates was inches wide with a header.
was very pleased with the second half display from his side.
