Wednesbury prove challenging opponents
The Blues had to fight all the way to secure a victory in the league clash.
Wednesbury's league position could only be described as misleading at best. Their ability, commitment and desire made this one very challenging encounter for the home team.
All credit must go to Wednesbury, whilst they left Sundorne without a victory, I am sure if they continue to play in the manner they did, they will enjoy a positive second half to the league campaign.
Shrewsbury started this encounter in gear 'plod' and only managed to accelerate to 'over plod' in the second half. The blues were under pressure throughout this encounter and missed opportunities to apply sustained pressure due to poor ball retention in contact.
The was a below par performance from the squad, given the previous home encounters, and serves a timely reminder that this league is very competitive and no fixtures can be taken lightly.
