A win at Crigglestone All Blacks in the first round of the Yorkshire cup would be difficult task for any team as they have been flying high at the top of division one for the past two seasons and are currently the Yorkshire cup champions. So with this in mind and four key players missing the boys travelled to Crigglestone with an open mind.
It was’nt long before Crigglestone were showing their strength and pace with good support play running in two or three tries early on. However Siddal showed they weren’t going to roll over that easy, with a great team effort and some good rugby of their own getting the ball out wide it wasn’t long before Sam Smith
was over the line for his first try of the afternoon, Keelan Foster
converted the extras. Crigglestone quickly responded with another try , the lads kept it together their heads didn’t go down they kept in there until our man Sam Smith
was over for his second of the day, again Keelan Foster
had no bother converting the kick.
In the end Crigglestone out- gunned us with their big lads, support play and plenty of aggression. The result didn’t go our way but the boys should be very proud of their performance it was a great team effort with lots to look forward to, we know what level we need to be at now in order to compete with these teams. We have a great set of lads and I am sure that coach Ainley can work with that as long as we all turn up for training to put it in and listen. Well done boys!!!!!
