Congratulations to the players and coaching staff of both our Under 13's and Under 15's who both reached their respective Yorkshire Cup Finals on Sunday, matching the achievement of our Under 18s.
Both sides had tough away fixtures. First up were the Under 15's who overcame a determined Brotherton Bulldogs by 6-38. It was another disciplined performance with the pack dominating the home side's forwards and creating the platform for a solid win. The gloss was slightly taken off the win due to a wrist injury to playmaker Kai Morgan, who is undergoing an operation on Monday. Our best wishes to Kai for a speedy recovery.
The Under 13's were left kicking their heels due a delayed kick off at Lock Lane, but they kept their focus and in front of a large crowd wore down their opponents with a great defensive display. Lock Lane were moving the ball well, but only managed to break the Siddal defence twice. The first half and early exchanges in the second period were close, but the visitors ran away with the game in the final 15 minutes, for a well deserved 10-28 win, crossing the line for five tries.
Both sides will play their finals on Saturday 19 January at Featherstone Rovers' Post Office Road ground.
The Under 13's take on East Leeds at 12.30 pm.
The Under 15's will play Kippax at 2.30 pm.
Transport will be arranged from the clubhouse. Further details to follow.
