Town will meet again tomorrow at 10am for another session to whip them into shape ahead of their first game, away to Asfordby.

Manager Steve Hendey was thrilled with the turnout on Wednesday. "There were the usual faces and some promising new lads too. I don't want to say too much at this point about who is or isn't signing, you just never know with pre season. I'm hopeful that the new lads that have been training will buy into what we're trying to do here. We look to play good football and we look to do it as a club. I want the lads to enjoy their football and a lot of our training is centered on getting the lads on the ball rather than road runs and endurance work."

Town took a reserve side to play Asfordby last year and ran out as 3-0 winners. However the Hoby Road club had a strong season last year, exceeding the expectations of many and should represent a tough test.

There will be training as usual tomorrow at 10am and then again on Wednesday.

"I'm hoping to pick a squad on merit from these sessions," added Hendey, "there's a lot of competition for places so now is the time to get your foot in the door. I was happy with the squad last year but one thing we need to improve on is consistency. It was rare I had the chance to pick from the same 15 or 16 lads two weeks in a row last season so those who show their commitment early on are sure to get their chance."

Kick off is at 2pm next Saturday and if you would like to get involved with the club or just come along and watch, either get in touch via the contact form on the website, or call first team manager Steve Hendey direct on 07792746816.
