The truck pull is an annual event for Sileby Town RFC members, who have raised more than £13,000 for the air ambulance in the previous three years.
However, this year the pull was in aid of Cancer Research UK.
The charity was chosen because club chairman Steve Hillyer's father in law, Harald Fuchs, passed away this year from melanoma, a form of skin cancer.
The truck pull took place on Saturday. The 9.5-tonne lorry was pulled from the centre of Loughborough to the Free Trade Inn, in Sileby.
Steve said the event should have raised about £6,000, with players from Syston joining the Sileby team members.
"There were about 30 of us pulling and there was a bit of a carnival atmosphere," Steve said.
"We had music playing on the support vehicle and it's really good fun.
"We're never short of people wanting to volunteer."

An absolutely brilliant day was had by all. On behalf of the Players of Sileby RFC, a massive thank you to Steve and Erika Hillyer, for organising such a great event, and to Venia Byrom and the East Midlands Zumba members who helped along the way.
The evening entertainment was just as good, with bands, and Elvis tribute and raffle. Thanks also to Joan at The Freetrade for her continued support.
Looking forward to it again next year!
