Stratford 2 XV withdraw
With regret I have to inform you that Stratford RFC have taken the decision to withdraw our 2xv from Warwickshire league 1.
The current team are too young and inexperienced to play in league one and as you can see from their results have not won a single game in the league to date. If we continued to play them at this level we would start to lose players.
We started the season with 27 players to field a 1xv & 2xv and although we have built that up by pulling one or two players in from here and there we are still weak in terms of numbers and playing strenght. This has been compounded by having no colts coming through the system for the past three years - this season we lost all 38 of our U18 colts plus their entire coaching staff to another club just down the road - this will have serious consequences for our senior club next season and beyond as you can imagine.
I will be looking for friendly fixtures at a lower level for this team in the hope that we can keep them together and playing rugby in the new year.
