DURHAM GAME BROUGHT FORWARD

Skelmersdale United’s Evo-Stik Division One North game at Durham City, that was scheduled for December has been brought forward to Saturday 17th September, Kick-off 3pm.

The club will be running a coach to the game, leaving the West Lancashire College Stadium at 9.45 am. Booking can be arranged by phoning 07714 168970.

The following two routes are recommended;

Route to Durham City Saturday 17th September

Get yourself onto the M60/M62 and head East towards Leeds.

Leave the M62 at Junction 29, signposted London/Wakefield, Get into the lane signposted A1 (M) North.

Follow M1 North, it becomes A1 (M) go past Garforth.

On reaching A1 head north, going past Scotch Corner, which has a good service area.

Exit A1 at Junction 62.

At the roundabout take the first exit about 60 degrees, onto A690 signposted Durham/ Consett/ A691.

After about .5 miles turn left toward Belmont.
Ground is called Durham UTS Arena.

After .3 miles turn left into Broomside Lane.

You will see the ground.

Alternative Route (More Scenic)

Take M6 North, into Cumbria.

Leave M6 at Junction 38 signposted Brough. You turn off left and the road turns almost 270 degrees and goes back under the M6.

Continue on A685 follow signs for Brough/Scotch Corner.

Pass through Kirkby Stephen, which is suggested if you require a break.

Just before you reach Brough you pass under a flyover, immediately turn right onto A66 signposted Scotch Corner.

Go past junction with A688 staying in the right hand lane, heading toward Scotch Corner.

On reaching Scotch Corner you will meet a big roundabout, turn left 90 degrees onto A1 North.

Follow instructions as above.
