Skelmersdale United FC and Elite Sports Academy have combined to offer the highest standard of college football based at the JMO Sports Park, in Skelmersdale.
Elite are working with Skelmersdale United and other non-league clubs to create an exciting youth system which will give players the opportunity to experience high quality coaching whilst studying BTEC Diploma’s/National’s in Sport, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, Personal Training (PT) or Coaching pathways.
Dedicated teachers and coaches work throughout the two year process delivering a range of subjects which allow learners to focus on their academic endeavors, whilst benefiting from an academy centre which focuses on excellence in performance and fitness.
Students will also gain funding to complete their F.A level 1 coaching badge as part of the programme, with a view to move towards the F.A level 2.
All players joining the academy will benefit from specialist football and fitness training, overseen by the Academy coach, Chris Stammers (UEFA A License).
Stammers explains, ‘this exciting partnership with Skelmersdale United will help continue our aim to solidify pathways into non-league football for talented players whilst achieving a solid educational foundation’.
Tim Craig (fitness coach) highlighted, ‘Ultimately, this process offers talented players a serious chance of stepping onto the footballing pyramid’.
Interested players (16-18 year olds) will need to contact the numbers below for date, time and venue of pre-season event and open evening and so we can place players into trial bands for the event.
