Lynn's unbeaten league start to 2015 ended with the league leaders Skelmersdale making the better of their chances sending Lynn to a 3-0 defeat.
Both teams gave debuts to recent on-loan signings. Leon Mettam appearing for Lynn and 'keeper Steven James for the visitors.
Danny Mitchley gave Lynn a warning in the first minute seeing his shot deflected away for a corner by Henry Eze following a quick break but Mitchley had to wait just six minutes to get his name on the score sheet. A long ball over the top found Mitchley to put the ball past Alex Street with ease.
David Bridges tested James in the visitors' goal but on 20 minutes Lynn went two down. Henry Eze, trying to see the ball out of play, was challenged by Connor McCarthy who tried to steal the ball away. Eze was adjudged to have fouled McCarthy and Mitchley scored from the resultant penalty sending Street the wrong way.
Thomson went wide for Lynn five minutes later.
Mitchley nearly completed his hat trick immediately after the restart but Street tipped the shot away.
His hat trick was completed, however, on 63 minutes when a cross field ball caught out the Lynn defence.
