Skipton 2nd string show up well against a well drilled 1st XV....

In a game of two halves Skipton started the stronger, scoring a try in the first 10 mins after Jordan Wilson took a quick tap penalty and powered over to score. Clitheroe then used the conditions to their advantage to put Skipton under the cosh in the next 30 mins despite some stalwart defence by every member of the team.

The second half allowed the 5 ...replacements from the bench to chance their arms, swapping for players who had performed admirably. With the wind in their favour, Skipton had a much better performance with strong performances throughout. Carl Nicholson scoring a bullocking crash over try and Matty Ray slinking through the defence twice, for one of which Callum Kay added the extras.

Most valuable players voted for by A Brasica were Matty Ray, Mikey and Carl Nicholson. The younger contingent of last year's Colts acquitted themselves superbly with Morgan Bibby, Harry Maltby and Troy Johnson getting well stuck in and Zach Bullock developing into a fine hooker. First half performance by Andy Mack needs a mention and Liam Jordan's powerful crash ball throughout the game gave Skipton some go forward ball.

All in all this was a good performance by the seconds which allows us to build upon for the future.
