Skirlaugh Bulls v Lambwath Lions U'11's

The short easter break didn't make a difference to the young bulls as they ran in 12 tries to beat a very big lambwath lions side. After a few re-shuffles to the bulls side due to lambwath player numbers, the bulls started were they left off in their last game. On their first attack,a Harry Leak pass put centre Tommy Coyle in for the first try. A side stepping run from Macauley Harris beating several defenders was the next try for 8-0. A Harris offload put the ever improving Jordan Watson in for try number 3. Next two tries came from excellent individual play from Ryan Hilton. Both tries came from lambwath attacking kicks which Hilton gathered and raced full length on both occasions. Next try was a team effort. Great drives by Will Tindall, Danny Raven and Jordon Riding allowed Oscar Nozedar to release Craig Connell to race in un opposed. One goal by Harry Leak made the scoreline 26-0 at half time. Changes were made at half time and as hail stone set in, the conditions started to worsen, the bulls upped the anti. The half started with an outstanding individual effort by Harrison Fowler to get the scoreboard going again. A 70m burst by Callum Small set up the position for Oliver Vass to scamper 20m on the blind side for the next try. Credit to lambwath, they kept plugging away and their efforts were rewarded with a try from the dummy half position. Thus seemed to add fuel to the fire for the bulls and after a surging run by Harry Medlicott, Cameron Fishwick steamed like an express train for a 20m burst and scored under the posts untouched. Then the Craig Connell show started. Excellent ball handling skills by Oliver Stead was instrumental in Connell's three try burst. Steads neat handling around the scrum allowed Connell time and space to go 50m on two occasions to score tries untouched. The third came after great link play between Liam Betts and Stead allowing Connell to score his 4th try of the game. Goals by Connell and Jack Robinson, made the scoreline 54-4. Even though Craig Connell gave an 18 point haul, it was Jordan Watson who claimed the m.o.m with an outstanding defensive effort and improved handling. An outstanding team effort ahead of next weeks cup game.
