Fair Play Charter

This Fair Play Charter encourages Participants, Club Officials and Spectators to behave in accordance with the principles of fun, friendship and enjoyment. Your SHC membership endorses your total support and the encouragement of the SHC Fair Play Charter. Any event organised by Slough Hockey Club will promote Fair Play within a competitive environment.

7 Simple Rules of the Fair Play Charter
- being a good sport , demonstrating good behaviour
- showing respect for opponents and all participants
- playing within the rules
- showing respect for officials and their decisions
- acceptance of the result or outcome
- being a good winner and good loser
- co-operating with the club, team, players, officials, coaches and supporters.

Players responsibilities under the Fair Play Charter
- Good Behaviour
- Being calm and in control of your temper.
- Not criticising other players
- Acknowledging and thanking officials and opposing players.
- Playing by the rules and accepting officials' decisions.
- Using appropriate language at all times ie. No swearing.

SHC Officials, Managment, Captains and Coaches responsibilities under the Fair Play Charter
- Good Behaviour
- Emphasis is on the enjoyment of competing fairly and team members should be reminded that they are representing SHC and should behave with the Fair Play Attitude.
- Are responsible for the behaviour of their teams and supporters for the duration of the Game.
- Encourage participants to value performance as well as results.

Spectators responsibilities under the Fair Play Charter
- They should respect the officials and the decisions they make
- They should NOT get involved with the action on the court/pitch

Fair Play Charter - Fair Play Awards
An annual award for the Fair Play Team and awards for Individuals who have demonstrated and been role models of Fair Play during the season.
