You do NOT need to work or have any association with Smiths Industries plc in order to play for the rugby club ... we originally took the name from the company the earlier days of the club (over 50 years ago) who's facilities the we use, and in fact in a club of about 70 current members, only a handful work (or have worked) for Smiths Industries.

We currently run two men’s senior sides.

Training is on Wednesday evenings from about 7pm. During the summer we are playing 'touch' rugby to keep fitness ticking over (or trying to get fit in some cases). Touch is a non-contact and simplified version of the full sport so is a bit of fun and is a good chance to get into the game and try and understand the basics of the sport.

Matches are played on Saturdays through the season (from Sept to May). The 1st XV tend to play each week in a league, with the 2nd XV turning out 2/3 times a month (they play competitive matches but have more of a social aspect)

Please feel to come along to a training season (Weds evenings) and meet the players ... panic not, you don't have to train on your first night if you do not want to and if you are missing kit, we can normally provide you with something!).
