Histon were confirmed as league Champions in game that maybe the scoreline didn't reflect.
Soham couldn't be faulted for their hard work and indeviour, as they took the game to their academy apponents. Although Histon controlled the ball well in their own half, their chances were limited.
The home side did take the lead though against the run of play, Matty Simpson adjudged to have brough down the striker 20 yards out and the kick was dispatched well to make it 1-0.
The second came 5 minutes later, after Soham had cleared their lines from a spectacular Jake Cotton clearence, the Histon striker was in an offside position as the ball was played back in and he was just as surprised to see no flag but dispatched the ball home for 2-0.
A furious Gibson urged his side forward and Jim Orvis had a header cleared off the line before half time that may have given Soham some 2nd half hope.
Second half though, Histon showed their proffesionalism and fitness that a 5 day a week academy should and called Green's keeper Dec Turner into several good stops. Joe Shippey was again a hero, appearing from nowhere to clear off the line but after another heroic piece of keeping from Turner, a Histon striker was onhand to tuck home for a flattering 3-0 scoreline.

Turner, Davis, Cotton, Shippey, Simpson (Prewett), Munday, Horton, Cohen (Camara), Orvis, Tobb, Sterna (Moore).
