The lure of a call to arms from Steve Fallon proved too hard to resist for Neil Andrews.

Former Histon captain Andrews has agreed to come out of retirement to be reunited with his old boss at Soham, the pair having shared a wealth of happy memories as they helped the Stutes climb the non-League pyramid in the last decade.
Andrews, who has not played since leaving Bury Town last summer prior to getting married, admits he was not looking for a return to the sport, but could not turn down the opportunity to assist Fallon.
"All my family think I’m crazy for starting up again," said Andrews. "Not many people would have got me playing again, but Steve’s a good friend. I’ve been trying to keep myself fit with some cycling and a bit of running, but we’ll see how fit I am when Saturday comes. I could be a bit rusty, but I didn’t feel too bad in training. Fal knows I’ll come in and give it my all to help Soham stay up, and maybe to push on next season. Hopefully I’ll be a help and not a hindrance."
Andrews’ arrival at Julius Martin Lane this week has coincided with the departure of Andy Furnell and Andy Coleman, who stepped aside as player-manager and assistant respectively last week. Simon Flanz, Scott Carter, Denny Escorcio and Andy Harrison have also left.
"Having lost about seven players, things could be hard between now and the end of the season, but there are still some good players here and hopefully we’ll be okay," said Andrews, whose first game is at home to Romford. "From whenever I’ve played Soham, I’ve always thought they had some potential. I’m sure with Steve on board they will be successful in the years to come. We’ve also got a Cambs Invitation Cup final to look forward to, so I might even end up winning another medal."
