Soham still not fully match sharp after a two month layoff improved as the game progressed. March defended in numbers restricting the hosts to just one chance in the 1st half; the Hares' keeper failed to gather Fitchetts cross and Clements couldnt force the ball in from an angle. Sohams passing looked good but the final ball into the box often lacked conviction. March relied heavily on route-one which paid off after 26 minutes. Bradshaw's long kick was headed on in midfield and Quinn nipped between the defence to hit a 25 yard shot giving Chamberlain no chance. After making tactical changes at halftime, Soham dominated the 2nd half but couldnt break down a stubborn March defence. There were numerous scrambles from the constant stream of home corners but somehow the visitors always cleared. Clements thought he had scored with a dipping 20 yard volley, but Bradshaw tipped over at the last second. Sub Suttle just failed to connect with Lynch's cross and Sterna had a goalbound shot blocked by a defenders slide. Chamberlain had hardly touched the ball second half, when with Soham throwing everyone forward were punished when a long clearance caught Norton off balance and Quinn snatched a hardly deserved second with less than a minute to go. Almost from the restart Roberts allowed a miss hit pass to bobble past him and despite Chamberlain's stop from the first shot the rebound fell kindly for Russell to prod home in injurytime. A much improved 2nd half with good performances from Stevens who worked well up front and Roberts back from injury in defence. Norton looked solid on his home debut whilst Fuller covered every blade of grass in midfield.
