The Greens opened the scoring in the eighth minute, when Paul Jones finished off good build up play, by taking the ball past the keeper and rolling it into an empty net. The visitors wasted several opportunities to level the score before Michael Simpson doubled the lead on the hour, when he slid in to knock the ball past the keeper after playing a one-two with Jones.
