Soham completed their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 home win over Ryman Division One North side Waltham Forest.

The Greens opened the scoring in the eighth minute, when Paul Jones finished off good build up play, by taking the ball past the keeper and rolling it into an empty net. The visitors wasted several opportunities to level the score before Michael Simpson doubled the lead on the hour, when he slid in to knock the ball past the keeper after playing a one-two with Jones. Lea Jordan ensured Soham kept their first clean sheet during pre-season by making a number of quality saves. There was even time towards the end of the match for Manager Ian Benjamin to make a fifthteen minute cameo appearance when he came on for Charles Libam, and came close late on to scoring a third. L.
