David informed the club of his decision towards the end of last week, following the departure of Robbie Nightingale to Cambridge City, however was in charge for the final time as the Greens won 4-1 away to Romford on Saturday.
Theobald arrived at the Lane at the beginning of last season from Royston Town, having previously gained experience playing in the Football League. After Steve Fallon’s departure in October 2015, he took over as joint manager alongside Robbie Theobald, helping steer the team away from the relegation zone.
The club wish to thank David for all his hard work since he arrived and wish his well for the future.
Chairman Stuart Hamilton commented “The 4-1 victory over Romford on Saturday showed the team spirit that exists at the club following the departure of five players who have followed the previous management team to their new club during last week. The performance and desire to win was evident straight from kick-off with the victory moving us up to twelfth in the League.”
Several applications for the vacant managerial post have already been received with more expected during the coming week.
