Mark Morsley has taken over as manager of Ryman League Division One North club Needham Market following the departure of Danny Laws.

Morsley had been due to take the reins at the end of the season, but the departure of Laws to take over at Morsley's former club Leiston has brought the managerial change forward.

Needham Market chairman David Bugg said in a statement: "Danny Laws has this afternoon informed me that he has been offered the Leiston managers job and that he would like to accept the position.
I would like to place on record the fantastic job Danny has done at Needham Market football club. He has taken the club from the depths of Ridgeons League football to the verge of the Ryman Premier league, and who will ever forget how close he took us to Wembley in the FA Vase competition.
Danny and I have had a very close relationship over the past seven years and he goes to Leiston with my full blessing and I should like to wish him the best of luck in the future."

"I have today asked Mark Morsley to take over the management of Needham Market Football Club with immediate effect this he has agreed to do.
Mark Morsley has been the most successful non-league manager in the area over the past few years and he is without doubt the right man to take this club forward.
Mark will undoubtably want to bring in his own management team and an announcement about that will be made in the fullness of time."

"With the continued success of the academy scheme under the stewardship of Kevin Horlock and Andy Gould I feel that Needham Market Football Club can look forward to a very bright and successful future."
