Striker David Knight hit a hat-trick on his return to Thurrock in an impressive 5-0 win at Heybridge Swifts on Tuesday night.
The result saw Fleet climb above Swifts into sixth spot in the Ryman North table after Knight struck in the 16th, 57th and 90th minutes following his arrival from Ryman Premier Metropolitan Police.
Lewis Spencer had the visitors ahead by the 11th minute with a headed goal before Knight scored his first just after the quarter of an hour mark. Ben Smith doubled their advantage on 36 minutes before Knight struck again, this time from outside the area on 56 minutes and then wrapped up the result from the spot in the final minute.

AFC Sudbury hit two first half goals to climb into third at second from bottom Brentwood Town with a 2-1 win. Sipho Mtyanda hit a last minute consolation in reply to strikes from Ryan Henshaw on 36 minutes and James Baker two minutes later from the spot.

Early season strugglers Cheshunt are still climbing after they also won away, the Ambers taking maximum points with a 4-1 victory at Burnham Ramblers. Charlie Kirby pulled one back for the hosts four minutes before the end after David Green hit a first half hat-trick and Nikki Beale scored at the wrong end five minutes after the hour mark.

Wroxham secured the only home victory on Tuesday with a 3-2 win over Harlow Town. Remy Gordon on 53 minutes, Stephen Drake on 56 and Ross Durrant after 67 saw them seemingly out of sight before Scott Curley and Chinedu McKenzie pulled two back in time added on.
