Hinde, who signed for the club from Histon, went on to become Club Captain, and although appearances were limited in the last couple of seasons due to injury, played 296 times for the Greens, scoring 33 goals. Recently in the Newmarket Journal, Ian Benjamin said Peter has been a wonderful servant to this club and we will go along with his wishes although we are very sorry to lose him and he leaves with all our best wishes, whilst Ely Manager Dennis Lightning told his club website Peter Hinde will provide the leadership and experience we will need next season and we are delighted to have signed someone of his quality.
