Pre-season has seen the usual coming and goings at the Lane as the club prepare for the new season.

The Management team have been busy over the summer with six players joining the club.

Ben Sawyer returns having finished last season with Barton Rovers. The 21 year old attacker originally signed for Soham at the beginning of the 2013/14 season from Huntingdon Town, scoring twelve goals in forty-nine games, before leaving last summer for Histon.

David Theobald has arrived from Southern League Royston Town. The 36 year old experience defender played in the Football League for Brentford, Swansea City and Cambridge United, before spells with Canvey Island, Kettering Town and Cambridge City.

Goalkeeper Harry Reynolds signs following his release from Cheltenham Town. The 19 year never made a competitive appearance for the Robins but was often named on the substitute bench. Harry originally began his career with Royston Town, and last season had a loan spell with Cambridge City.

The club have also signed three players from the Kershaw League with midfielder Simon Swinton and versatile Josh Townshend joining from League champions Great Shelford, whilst striker Dale Archer arrives from Linton Granta having scored twenty-two goals in twenty-three appearances.
Like Soham, Dale was also commended in the recent FA Respect awards, winning the people’s award after deliberately missing a penalty he felt had been unjustly awarded in his side's match with Brampton last season.

As well as the new additions to the squad, the vast majority of last season’s squad have re-signed for the new campaign, including top goal scorer Luke Stanley, who despite offers from higher level clubs has decided to stay at Soham.
Also returning are Jordan Baker, Jordan Gent, Marcus Hall, Alex Luque, Andy Palmer, Rob Ruddy, Callum Russell, Charlie Russell and Ryan Sharman.

The club can also confirm that Joey Abbs has left and signed for Thurlow Nunn Premier Division Newmarket Town. The attacker joined the Greens in October 2013 from Cambridge City scoring seventeen goals in fifty-six appearances.

New Reserve Team Manager Wayne Lockwood and his coaches have also been busy building a side ahead of the season, with a number of new players arriving at the club.
Jordan Sharpe and Dan Gawthrop join from Newmarket Town, whilst Robbie Scrivener (Burwell Swifts), Ben Tuffs (Fordham) and Scott Hayes (Wickhambrook) have also signed, along with a number of returning players from last season.
