St Ives Town U18 2 v Soham Town U18 3 Soham completed the season's youth development programme with a deserved away win over Ridgeons Floodlit Youth League outfit St Ives Town.

The Greens included five players from this years championship squad who can play again next season, with the rest being members of the Youth development programme and one trialist. Rangers looked comfortable in the first half with Tom Norton, Steve Sexton and Alex Burr in commanding form in defence, the latter making a crucial last ditch clearance to end the Saints best attacking move. Soham were 2-0 up at the break with goals from Tom Taylor, a well taken individual effort and Dan Sterna. Keiran Wingfield made it 3-0 on 55 minutes with a stunning 20 yard volley before Saints made several substitutions and had their best spell in the game pegging the score back to 2-3 although Rangers finished the game strongly and could easily have scored again from several fine moves, the best of which saw Wingfield cut in from the right and pull the ball back for the impressive Jim Orvis who had a defender slide in at the final moment to deny a goal. A good workout and solid team performance with several development squad members showing up well, in particular keeper Charlie Wills, midfielder Blake Kneeshaw and defender Sam Sterna.
