Hemel dominated the early possession and looked to boss the ball around, Danny May was first to test Rangers keeper Dan Bircham however his free kick from distance failed to trouble. The home side continued their pressure on the visitors goal; Chris Watters corner swung in and evaded everyone before being cleared off the line. Minutes later Hemel centre half Matt McEntegart nearly found the net but his header was well held onto. Half Time: Hemel Town 0-0 Soham Town Rangers The Tudors came out in the second half in very much the same fashion looking for that opening goal. In the 55th minute Hemel did get their reward, Ryan Ashe superbly found Danny May who crossed into Dennis Fenemore, and the striker controlled well before firing into the bottom right. This goal was hopefully the stepping stone Hemel needed in the game however in the 57th minute the visitors managed to get an equaliser. A corner from Luke Hipwell was met by defender Joe Stroud who volleyed home and it was now very much game on. Both managers made changes looking for that little bit extra and in the 65th minute Soham nearly took the lead, forward Dubi Ogbonnas effort hit the post and the rebound fell to Shawn Richards whose shot was saved well by Tudors keeper Elliot Thomas. As the game looked to be heading towards extra time Ryan Ashe superb effort from long range was fumbled by the keeper and the ball was quickly followed up by Ross Lafayette who made no mistake and smashed in to the delight of the home fans!
