In the third minute Aaron Carmen jinked past two defenders on the left before sending over a low cross which Gareth Suttle deftly turned in for 1-0. Suttle thought he had scored again ten minutes later tapping home the loose ball after the home keeper failed to hold Riches rasping shot, but was mysteriously ruled offside. Watton created two first half chances firing the first straight at keeper Chamberlain from an acute angle 10 yards out and then sending a skidding shot past his right hand post, otherwise it was all Soham in a drab first period. On the stroke of half time Riches found the time and space to drive the ball in from the left and when the home defence under pressure from Suttle and Alexander failed to clear Carmen prodded the ball home at the far post for 2-0. Within five minutes of the restart the game was ended as a contest when Alexander collected Fuller's pass 20 yards out and hit a low shot on the turn past the helpless Watton keeper. Carmen added a second on the hour with a fine solo effort and then when the keeper failed to hold substitute Cowlan's low shot Suttle was on hand to poach his second, Rangers fifth. In the final minute Carmen grabbed his hat-trick cutting in from the left past two defenders and sliding the ball past the keeper only to hit the post, but he was first to the loose ball and drove it high into the net for number six. An easy outing for the Greens, with Tom Norton having a commanding game in defence and everyone else playing well, but within their capabilities. Chamberlain, Cook (S. Sterna), Norton, D.
