The 17 year old, who arrived at the Lane during the summer from Buckhurst Hill, will spend up to six weeks with United’s Academy, taking part in training sessions and playing matches for their Under 18s.

Soham Manager Steve Fallon expects Wood to remain with the Greens until the end of the season and continue the promising form he has shown so far during this campaign.
“Colchester have submitted a seven-day request to talk to him,” said Fallon. “They want him to go and train with them and have a look at him. But he’s going to be with us this weekend and I hope he will see the season out with us. I would think their interest will inspire him more than anything else, knowing that there are people out there watching him.”
