Youth Team Knocked Out Of FA Youth Cup

Bury Town U18s 5 Soham Town U18s 0 FA Youth Cup 1st Qualifying Round Monday 24/09/07 The Youth team have been knocked out of this seasons FA Youth Cup by Bury Town, going down 5-0 in front of a crowd off 119 at Ram Meadow.

Bury, who are a full time youth academy, scored twice at the beginning of each half, as well as a fifth near the end of the game to secure their victory. Adam Clemence and Gareth Suttle created good chances for the young Soham side, but couldnt finish. The Greens lost keeper Jamie Chamberlain at the beginning of the second half, after he was injured in the build up to Burys third goal. 15 year old Michael Mitchell came in to make his debut. Despite conceding a goal before he had touched the ball a minute later, he went on to make some very important saves. Sohams Team Jamie Chamberlain (Michael Mitchell 55), Ryan Fitchett, Gareth Roberts, Nathan Littlefair, Ryan Davis, Luke Littlechild, Dan Sterna (Elliot Smart 73), Sam Riches, Gareth Suttle, Adam Clements, Aaron Carmen (Sheridan Stevens 65) Unused: Dan Miller, Jack Sobey U18 Manager Gavin Stevenson and the players would like to offer their thanks to all of the supporters and committee who travelled to Bury to offer such excellent support for the team which was very much appreciated.
