Rothwell Town moved to second in the Zamaretto League Division One Midlands table, just two points behind leaders Hitchin Town, when they recorded a resounding 5-2 away win against bottom-of-the-table Aylesbury United, who still await their first point of the season, on Wednesday night.
Dominic Hallows gave the Bones an early 9th minute lead that Ashleigh James cancelled out five minutes later. But it was the second half that the impressive-looking Bones really went to work, scoring four more times. Kevin Byrne bagged a brace on 56 and 69 minutes, with Jason Turner adding a fourth on 72 before Dean Thomas pulled a late goal back from the penalty spot for the Ducks, but it was scant consolation and even more so when the visitors added an even later fifth with Tom Mills the scorer. :
