GBAF Vets to play British Asian Rugby Association on 17 July

This will be another epic journey for the Vets as they take to the field in GB Colours for the first time in four years
- Jamie Doig, GBAF Vets Manager

The advantage that the Army RATS (Race Against Time & Senility) Veterans XIII have in having a regular veterans fixture list, has paid dividends in the selection for the GB Armed Forces Rugby League Veterans. For their forthcoming fixture versus the British Asian Rugby Association Select, the bulk of the GBAF team are RATS and Anthony Cowburn has been selected to be team captain. In order to stay injury free for this honour, Pud turned down the chance to play for Weymouth in the first ever Rugby League fixture between two Dorset clubs, when they played Swanage & Wareham on 3 Jul, coaching both teams instead.

The Vets game will be played at the Provident Stadium, Odsal, BD6 1BS, on 17 Jul 2016, with the kick off at 12:45, the game being the curtain raiser for the Bradford Bulls vs Oldham fixture in the Kingstone Press Championship.

All members in the Bradford area are encouraged to go along and support the GBAF Vets and particularly the Army representatives of:

Rob Martin
Andrew Kershaw
Carl Rawes
John Dancer Kenway
Spencer Sutton
Matt Pritchard
Carl Tibbo Tibbetts
Ross David Stanley
Carl Abrahams
Anthony Cowburn
