The colts finish on a high
Southams last colts game of what has been another very successful season saw them inflict a second defeat on a nemesis side for Southam in recent seasons.Although the score would suggest a complete whitewash Nuneaton, who had a very large squad in terms of numbers and physical size came across a Southam side for whom it really clicked on the day.
Fresh from his 2 games for England Counties with under 18’s in Ireland Joe Tresendern came away with a 3 try and 8 conversion personal haul, however this was far from a one person show or game with a total of 8 players crossing the whitewash during the afternoon.
The first half was a steady stream of tries to Joe Tresendern,
Charlie Rooney, Ryan Comyns, Tim Virr and Mario Palmer with great individual scores in there bolstered with some again fine supported scores.
Half time could not come quick enough for Nuns who took the opportunity to bring on a fresh set of players , including some larger lads onto the field but this had little effect as further scores from Finn Wilde, Bay Toner and James Rawbone followed, Nuns did gain some reward with a couple of tries one of which was converted.
Overall the Southam squad has developed through this season into a team that has played high quality opposition , gone further in the Warwickshire County cup than ever before, had one of their players become the first Southam player to represent his country and play the most games of any team in the county.
The coaching and management team at Southam thanks the lads for their excellent support in particular Bay Toner who has developed and matured as a real leader and organiser.
