Coverage of Southampton Spitfires RLFC
At Southampton Spitfires we make every effort to promote the club in the media and to fulfil all media requests to the best of our ability.
Since the club's formation in the summer of 2007 Southampton Spitfires have slowly but consistently increased their public profile through local press and media, as well as coverage in the national Rugby League press and online. It is still early days in the development and expansion of the club but already we have enjoyed some notable exposure.
Landmark moments include; our first ever match report in the Southern Daily Echo in 2007, the first ever live score updates and coverage of a Rugby League match in the city of Southampton, which featured on BBC Radio Solent. We've enjoyed coverage on BBC Radio London and a cameo appearance on Sky Sports 'Boots n All' programme plus a few Rugby League World Magazine features.
Every time we are featured in the local press or on the radio our web site hits peak sharply, which is good news for everyone connected with the club. In fact our web visits more than doubled from 2009 to 2010 and then doubled again from 2009 to 2010.
Thank you to all those who have given the club vital and much appreciated coverage - please keep up the good work, so that we can continue to grow into the valued community club we aspire to be, serving the people of Southampton and the surrounding area.
