Southampton Spitfires Rugby League Club: Women's XIII

We are now recruiting players for the women's section of Southampton Spitfires, Training has been scheduled to start in May 2011. Dates and times will be published in the next week but in the mean time we are asking potential players from 16yrs to open age, who want to give rugby league a try to contact us immidiately.

We have five RFL qualified Level 2 Coaches who will be running sessions open to experienced rugby players of either League or Union backgrounds and also for the complete novice first timer who may be totally new to the sport.

Don't worry if you don't know the rules or aren't sure of the difference from Union to League, we can get you fully up to speed on that front, teach you some new skills, help you keep fit and most importantly provide the opportunity to have a lot of fun and make new friends.

Rugby League is a summer based sport, so you don't have to give up playing rugby in the winter.

This season we are hosting a series of training and skills sessions in the build up to fixtures in mid summer, so there is something to aim for and the opportunity to test yourself against other clubs in the south.

Coach and Team Co-ordinator Wanted

In addition to players we are looking for a Women's Coach & a team co-ordinator, we'd like these to be female players (or non players). They will take responsibility for coaching, liasing with the club committee and the female players and taking an active role in developing and growing the women's section. Coaching courses are availble for those who are interested in this area of the game.
