Garrard and Tyreman score on debut

The LaDS (London and Down South) squad's first outing ended in a traditional 0-0 draw at Medway yesterday with the home side scoring six well taken tries to the LaDS two.

The game started tightly with both sides completing multiple sets and constantly turning the opposition around until a breakthrough from LaDS full-back Pascal Garrard who stepped inside a defender to sprint 60 meters and score under the posts leaving the LaDS 1 try to 0 up at the end of the first period.

Next on the score sheet was scrum half Glenn Tyreman who scored a well worked solo try out wide on the right. The defence, expecting another grubber kick through, held of for a split second allowing Tyreman to slip through and score giving the visitors their second try. The Dragons replied just before half time scoring on the LaDS right hand side making it 2-1 at the break.

The Dragons ran wild in the third period scoring five back to back tries as the LaDS defence out wide was left wanting on several occasions

The final period was much tighter with neither side posting scores despite coming close a few times.

The LaDS outing was a success, bring masters players together from all over London and the South and as more and more teams start up the future is looking bright for the Masters game in the South of England.
