S.Bucks started the game very strongly with good interplay between the midfield & forwards causing the Henley defence all sorts of problems.

Prior to the game midfield dynamo Mark Tennant had said that he'd had a dream that he would get into the opposition D. 10 minutes into the game it came true. Picking up the ball outside the 25, he dribbled his way through a packed defence, evading more than half a dozen tackles,driving into the D before slipping the ball past the keeper for a top class goal.

Henley strove for an equalizer but any attacks were smothered by the S.Bucks defence & midfield or the through balls evaded the forwards. Bucks were soon 2 up when a sustained attack eventually saw skipper Steve Reeves get the ball into the net. The Henley keeper complained that he was being sat on by Kev Patel after an initial save but neither umpire saw any reason to disallow the goal.

The second half saw further attacks from both sides but S.Bucks were denied by some great saves from the Henley keeper. Henley were unable to get any real shots on goal & their frustration saw them reduced to 10 men for the last few minutes after a bit of shoving.

1st team skipper Phil Rees was umpiring and said that the passing during the first half was better than he'd seen earlier in the day from his own team.
