History
South Cardiff Panthers were established in 2007 and compete in the Welsh Australian Rules Football League(WARFL) Premiership. The WARFL Premiership will consists of 5 teams in 2010, South Cardiff Panthers, Cardiff Double Blues, Swansea Magpies, Gwent Tigers and Vale Warriors.
The season of 2009 saw the Panthers dominate the WARFL Premiership with 12 straight wins in the league and successes in the WARFL Premiership Grand Final and Caerdydd Cup. There were 11 Panthers players included in the Cymru Red Dragons Squad (Welsh National Team) for 2 tests against the England Dragonslayers (Cardiff & London) and 2 tests against the Scottish Puffins (Glasgow & Cardiff) in 2009. The Scottish Puffins also included 2 Panthers, Michael Ferry and David Gamble for 1 test against the Cymru Red Dragons in Cardiff.
The Panthers finished off the domestic and international season by travelling to Belfast to play against Ulster. The game proved to be a friendly but competitive affair with many of the Ulster players being experienced Gaelic Footballers and experienced in Austrailian Rules Football.
