Constitution

SOUTHALL EAGLES CRICKET CLUB RULES AND CONSTITUION

1. Name/Nature of Club: The club shall be called the SOUTHALL EAGLES CRICKET CLUB. The club is a non-profit making organisation and any surplus income or gains is reinvested into the club and does not permit distribution of club assets, in cash or in kind to members or third parties. The purpose of the club is providing facilities for and promoting participation in cricket.
2. Constitution: The club shall consist of a president, chairman, webmasters and members, both playing and supporting.
3a. The condition of membership: Shall be payment of the annual subscription. Application for membership must be made in writing to the President.
Membership shall commence from the date of payment , subject to the provisions of RULE 6.
3b. Guest players, umpires, scorers, coaches, tea ladies and any person, whilst participating in the
club's activities or helping the club in repairs, maintenance and grounds men's duties on a
voluntary basis.
4. Annual Subscription: The annual subscription for full playing members shall be fixed at the
annual general meeting. Once the Annual Subscription is paid it will be non refundable if a player decides to leave half way through the season.

Early payment may be recognised .
Non-payment of subscription shall be grounds for non-selection.
Non-playing membership shall be at the members' discretion.

5. Match Fees: Match fees shall be fixed by the executive committee at the commencement of the season, as shall any other regular match day contributions. Once the match fee is paid it will be non refundable if a player decides to leave half way through a game.

6. Exclusion of Members: The executive committee shall have power to exclude any individual
from membership of the club, provided that any such member concerned shall have an
opportunity of being heard before the committee. The decision of the committee shall be final.
7. Voting: The qualification to vote and take active part in a general meeting of the club shall be
payment of the current annual subscription.
8. Annual General Meeting: The financial year of the club shall end on 31st October, and the
executive committee shall convene the annual general meeting within six weeks of that date.
9. Extra-ordinary General Meeting: The secretary shall call an extra-ordinary general meeting if
required to do so by the committee, or by notice in writing, stating the special object thereof,
from at least four full members of the club. Such meetings shall be held within not less than 14
days and not more than 21 days from the date of receipt by the secretary of the requisition.
10. Alteration to rules: Amendment to these rules shall only be made at a general meeting of the
club. At least fourteen days notice in writing must be given by the secretary of any proposed
amendment.
11. Executive Committee: The club's affairs shall be managed by the
executive committee, of five members which shall consist of the President, chairman, treasurer,
fixture secretary, webmaster & one member.

The committee shall have power to co-opt any other club members as additional committee
members.
The Executive-committees shall look after: Finance and fund raising, Ground and gear
Bar and social, Select a captain.
12 Election of Committee: President, Chairman and members of the executive shall be elected at the annual general meeting, along with the fixture secretary and captain of the clubs adult elevens.
13. Quorum: The quorum of the committees and general meeting shall be a majority in number of full members.
14. Meetings: The executive committee shall meet at least monthly during the season and
thereafter as often as necessary.
15. Club Colours: Shall be White.

16. Inability to play: It is the responsible of a member selected for a match to advise the relevant
captain immediately if he is unable to play, and also to advise of his unavailability for future
selection.
17. Expenses: It is the responsibility of captains to arrange collection of match fees and other dues and to pay expenses including travelling costs to those whose vehicles have been used to convey others to away matches.
Prompt accounting of all monies to the treasurer is essential.
17a. Once the batting order has been decided by the Captain it cannot be changed.
18. Indoor nets: Captains shall arrange control of these.
19. Dress and conduct: Club members shall be expected to dress appropriately on the field of play.
Each member shall conduct himself properly both on and around the field of play, whilst
representing the club.
In particular, the following shall be regarded as unacceptable conduct:-
a) Verbal or physical abuse to other players, officials or members of the public.
b) Disputing an umpire's decision, or acting in a provocative or disapproving manner towards an
umpire at any time.
c) Using crude or abusive language or hand signals.
Members are reminded or RULE 6, which may be implemented at any time, should RULE 19 be
contravened.
20a Dissolution: If at any general meeting of the club, a resolution be passed calling for the
dissolution of the club, the president shall immediately convene a special general meeting of the
club to be held not less than one month thereafter to discuss and vote on the resolution.
20b If at the special general meeting, the resolution is carried by at least two thirds of the full
members present at the meeting, the general committee shall thereupon, or at such date as shall
have been specified in the resolution, proceed to realise the assets of the club and discharge all
debts and liabilities of the club.
20c. After discharging all debts and liabilities of the club, the remaining assets will be
distributed among the full members of the club.

21. Members playing for the team over five years will pay only 50 pounds.
