South Leicester Rugby Football Club was founded in 1919 in the city of Leicester and played all its matches on Victoria Park until 1960 when the club moved to its present Welford Road Ground in Wigston (next to the cemetery). celebrating over 55 years of community rugby in Wigston.
The club runs a mini/junior & colts section of 200 boys & girls from U7 to U19 and a senior section of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Vets.
Our 1st team play at RFU National 2 North and are one of the highest placed amateur side in Leicestershire and 2014 County Cup Champions.
The club is very keen to foster partnerships with potential businesses and sponsors, who along with guests and clients can enjoy watching highly competitive traditional rugby whilst at the same time raise their company profile.
