After a fantastic season having already won the Syston festival, our own South Leicester festival and Nuneaton festival
we took a team to the County Cup tournament as a late entry

The group we had been drawn in had a late cancellation so we had to only play and beat Hinckley RFC
However after taking a 2 try lead at half time, Hinckley came back in the second half with some great tagging to hold us to a draw

Now came the nail biting coin toss to decide the group winner – South Leicester called tails and luckily for us fate sent us through to the play offs as the group winner

So still on course for the cup title we next played Lutterworth, beating them comfortably with a couple of turnover balls which
kept us in the lead throughout, our tagging was excellent

Semi-final against Leicester Forest East, much closer game this time, with South Leicester being held at bay by some strong tagging by LFE however our tagging coupled with the speed and agility plus support play of the team as a whole gained us a turnover ball and put us in the lead at half time which we held onto at the final whistle
The spirit of this particular game between the teams was outstanding

The final was against Melton, a team we had no experience of during the season so were not sure what to expect, however our kids kept up the high standard of tagging play and stormed through the first half with a 3 try lead. We continued to play at an exceptional level and won !!!!

It was a very proud moment for all and just wonderful to see the kids rewarded for their efforts
The whole squad has had a brilliant season thanks to hard work and effort from everyone involved, becoming County Cup Champions has topped off a very successful season which we hope to continue !
