1st team results for week ending 13th May
First team cruise through to the second round of the Parish Cup
The first team were beaten on Saturday playing away to Copley. Southowram CC's nemesis Mark Baldwin top scored for Copley with 51. Tom Belfield and Saffi Hussain took 3 wickets each as Copley went on to score 201. Our innings was somewhat curtailed by some accurate bowling from Copley, Dean Crossley top scoring with 31. Richard Veal scored 29 not out and Andy Measey scored 21 not out as they steered our innings to a steady 145. The full scorecard can be viewed here..
The postponed first round of the Parish Cup was played on Sunday after a washout on the scheduled date. Southowram CC made short work of the task in hand by bowling Denholme Clough out for just 61 runs. Surpassing Denholme's score took less than 10 overs and the game was over by 4pm.
