South Park were knocked out of the FA Carlsberg Vase on Saturday by holders Whitley Bay.

The turning points of the game happened in a three minutes spell either side of half time. Trailing 1-0 Park were reduced to 10 men on 44 minutes with the sending off of Kieran Lavery. In the 1st minute of the second half Michael Smith's shot from the edge of the box hit the post. Whitley Bay went straight down the other end and scored their second. With Park now playing with 3 at the back with left back Ward pushing further forward the home side used the spaces well and caught Park on the break to score further goals.

Highlights of the game can be found at http://youtube.com/wbfctv which includes post match interviews with both managers.

Finally the club would like to thank everybody that travelled to the North East from South Park to watch the game. We estimate that there were around 85 supporters who made the long trip north and they certainly made themselves heard in the crowd of 761.
