Late goal denies Park away win
South Parrk had to settle for a point as Raynes Park Vale scored with 10 minutes to go, cancelling out David Smith's 1st half goal which looked set to give Park all 3 points.
The home side attacked straight from the kick off forcing Wastell to parry a stinging drive and O’Sullivan cleared the danger. O’Sullivan found Michael Smith in space but his 25 yard shot sailed over the bar. Lavery’s flick on found Burgess who found the back of the net only for the goal to be ruled out by the assistant referees raised flag. Lock running through onto a loose ball was challenged on the edge of the box and the danger was cleared. Midway through the second period the home side began to exert some pressure. Miles twice blocking goal bound efforts. Lavery and Lock both hit efforts wide as Park looked for the second goal to kill the game off. The home side won a corner in the 80th minute after long ranger effort was deflected wide. The corner was flicked on at the near post and Moore reacted first to nod home the equaliser from close range. Immediately from the re-start Michael Smith’s ball inside the full back found Burgess but his left foot shot just went over the bar. The home keeper pushed Lavery’s effort wide as Park ran out of time and had to settle for a point.
Park now have three consecutive home games, starting with the visit of Camberley Town on Saturday. Wembley are the opponents on Tuesday before the FA Carlsberg Vase 1st round tie against Colliers Wood United on Saturday 22nd October.
