South Shields face a difficult trip to Hartlepool RFC this weekend in round 10 of Durham/Northumberland Two.

The Cleadon Club sponsored side are looking for their first win in four games and will be targeting a solid performance at Mayfield Park.

The two sides haven't met since January 2015 when Hartlepool ran out 18-7 winners in a close fought game, Shields scoring through a Martin Bengston try and a Micky Jones conversion.

However, Shields last appearance at Mayfield Park was only back in May in the County Cup Final.

Shields worrying injury list continues as Scott Gillies, Matty Thornton, Alex Roper and Daniel Whitelaw are ruled out, while Anthony Kail is also out.

Steven Lockney starts at hooker having missed the last few games with a neck problem with Kristian Summerside moving across to number 3.

Matthew Heydari, who was set to start at openside last week only for a late drop out causing a shift in personnel, was set to start at 7 however has been ruled out.

Jonny Jeffrey returns to start on the wing making his first appearance of the season.

Colin Kennedy continues his return from injury and starts at 9, while Paul Munro keeps his spot at fullback having performaned well and scored last week.

Luke Broster also returns having recovered from a hand injury while Conor Deacon returns adding real experience to the backs.

Another returnee Adam Hudson starts having missed last weekend with illness.

Dan McKay captains the side while Aaron Frier, Matty Stephenson and Cameron Richardson all keep their spots.

Todays game kicks off at 2:15pm at Mayfield Park, home of Hartlepool RFC (TS24 9BA).
